Greetings and Happy Thanksgiving! Today we are grateful for all the blessings we have - and those include our appreciation for General Colin Powell's Lessons in Leadership. Today's lesson #4 adds upon yesterday's lesson found via our crossover series . . . https://outingmnfun.weebly.com/blog/special-addition-lesson-three To continue, consider this. Have you ever not done something because you thought you couldn't do it (or do it well enough)? Well, know this: You miss 100% of the shots you never take – but, you may make some or most of those you take. |
And yes, we may not always succeed as we would like but we'll never succeed at all if we don't try. Now . . . what to try and what to avoid? Well, if it is honorable or compassionate, you are on a good path. If your actions don't embrace these in some way – don't do it. As for bonus points. Just as Colin Powell shared his wisdom to help others – this is what you can do as well. Show your kids, grand-kids or others what can be done or at a minimum, encourage them to do their best in all that they pursue. Why? That is the path that good things take. And remember . . . James 1:2-4 "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness; and let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." |
